THE HUNTED

30" x 40" oil on canvas

From 1845 – 1886 the majority of the Apache were at war with the United States. The Southwest was a cauldron of hostilities and peace was in many instances short lived.
General Miles put over 5,000 soldiers in the field to capture Geronimo.
Geronimo surrendered in 1886 with his "army" of 33 people.
