SLICKER LESSON

SLICKER LESSON

20" x 30" oil on canvas

A cowboy depends on his horse. In sunshine or rain, the two have to have trust in each other. In the northwest a rider packs a slicker (raincoat) on his saddle most all the time and the horse must become used to the slicker being worn by the rider. This bronc twister is teaching his horse to be familiar with the bright and noisy slicker so that it doesn't get boogered by it and try to shed the rider. © Steven Lang OPAM
